19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard surfaces

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial title for over two years with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament final.

The Russian, a former number one, has endured a torrid year, managing just one win at the big events and suffering a setback at the US Open.

The player's varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serving in especial - caused him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with former trainer Cervara.

Now collaborating with Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has gradually advanced in the last few weeks - culminating in a closely contested competitive victory over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This represents the player's first title following the Italian tournament and first on a hard court since spring of the previous year.

Success also indicates he has secured 21 titles at 21 distinct tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters together, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," stated world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my younger daughter her name, because the first title I achieved when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had been defeated in his past six championship matches, comprising in the German tournament in the past months.

The player's retrieving strategy and frequent emotional displays on the playing surface had caused commentators to doubt if his capacity to play at the highest level was finished.

However the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the past month, striving to advance forward and perform assertively, supported by an enhanced serving game.

Medvedev came back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the tricky Frenchman, securing four of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.

The competitors traded breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, attempting for his initial ATP Tour championship, gained dominance to create a decider.

Moutet defended four early-game opportunities in a competitive deciding set before Medvedev won the break to that score to serve for the match.

Fittingly, he clinched victory with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman unable to handle a return after a lengthy match.
